Review of Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) by Dan D — 06 Jun 2009
Despite good acting, great special effects, and an interesting premise, this Star Trek film comes up dead in the water. The main problem is that there is too much time spent between the two main opposing ships and not enough time on other planets or detailing of the characters.
No one seems to develop over the course of the story and the only thing left to show for it is the death of Data, which is just as bad as the death of Kirk in Generations. Despite also coming up as somewhat original, the Next Generation Star Trek movies have grown too thin from lack of improvising and interest, with the exception of the utterly awesome First Contact.
If it hadn't been for the new Star Trek film that recently came out, this film probably would've killed the franchise for good.
