The Star Trek franchise feels a little old now with this installment. The film boasts the best visual effects yet for a Star Trek film and there are some good space battles. However, the movie seems to somewhat venture into Star Wars territory with Picard and Data running around an alien ship taking out an endless supply of bad guys.
I thought the main villain's motives were a little undeveloped as well. He's pissed and wants to kill everyone. One can fault the screenplay for such simplicity. An OK Star Trek film.
