A decent start and a strong finish provide the tasty loaf of this turd sandwich. The middle act is not terrible, but it is dull and slow with virtually nothing of interest taking place for a full hour.
The film aimed to bring Star Trek to the mainstream, with a more blockbuster feel, but instead provided another nail in the series' coffin.
