The Voyage Home, the third and final entry in the Genesis trilogy, wraps up a great Trek story arc that all started with that damned Genesis project in The Wrath of Khan. After Kirk went all rogue in The Search For Spock, the Federation is looking to punish Kirk and court martial him for being a bad-ass douche. Too bad a large penis with another penis and testicle for a chin wants to talk to whales enters the picture!!

And that's what starts your story. Some alien probe comes to Earth to communicate with humpback whales. Problem? They went extiinct in the 21st century. OH SNAP! You know what that means? Random time travel!! yaaaayyyy Spock figures that "sling-shotting" around the sun will land them in the latter half of the 20th century. Their mission: take some whales and bring them into the future. Otherwise, that large metal alien penis will ionize the Earth's oceans and kill everything over time. Nothing more humiliating that being beaten by the dick, so naturally, Kirk decides to be the "bigger" man *wink wink* and put himself and crew on the line and save the day yet again. What follows is nuclear wessssel hilarity!

The Voyage Home is a silly movie, one that can easily be dismissed as one of the worst Trek movies. However, its so much damn fun. The cast really gels here, and scenes with Chekov asking where the nuclear "wessels" are is priceless. Next time they should check history and realize the Iron Curtain hadn't fallen yet!!

A decidedly light-hearted, eco-friendly adventure for Kirk and company, The Voyage Home is the weakest of the trilogy, but still leagues ahead of the Motion Picture. A satisfying conclusion to the Genesis story arc, and a personal favourite amoung Trekkies. Go see it :).
