Review of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) by Peter D — 29 Mar 2014
Probably the silliest of the original crew films, The Voyage Home concludes the storyline begun in Wrath of Khan with a sense of fun and adventure. Led by Kirk and a Spock who is not quite himself, the crew goes back in time to 1980s Earth where they will try to find humpback whales to bring to the future.
Laughter, hijinks, and out-of-time romance ensues as they try to bring the whales back to the future to stop an alien device from destroying the Earth. While not as serious as the previous two films, Voyage Home still manages to be a fun time-travel film with lots of laughs along the way.
