Review of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) by Nick B — 28 Nov 2013
This movie excels for one reason: Humor. That's right, even the mainstream can enjoy "the Star Trek whale movie" because of the humor present. We have Leonard Nimoy delivering expletives deadpan, William Shatner being a goof, DeForest Kelley decrying modern medical technology "the middle ages," Checkov breaking into a US military base when Reagan had heated the Cold War back up again, and just all sorts of other ridiculous scenarios that are still funny.
Definitely worth a watch.
