Not that all of the Star Trek shows and movies are not "out there," because they are, but this is the most "out there" the series has gone this far. And while the wired acting of Shatner is still there the rest of the cast begin to show that the can make the transition from 70s and 80s acting to current acting styles.
The cheesy writing is still there but the story is so far fetched that it is enjoyable none the less. Almost a Sci-Fi comedy, this Star Trek film is a most see for any movie fan.
