Review of Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) by Bill T — 26 Apr 2009
Not bad, but not considerably great NG movie. The movie's tone and urgency seems far less urgent than usual.. Maybe that's why we see Riker and Troi get frisky with each other. Picard and company are researching why a planet's citizens don't grow old.
Meanwhile a race of beings (headed by F. Murray Abraham in makeup seemingly inspired by Katherine Hellmond in Brazil) wants to find the power of the planet for their nefarious means. As I have said, the plot is pretty lightweight, and I didn't feel gripped as other Star Trek movies.
But it's still entertaining. and has a few good moments.
