Review of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) by Michael C — 01 Jun 2009
When I first watched this film in the 1980s I felt a little frustrated by it because Spock, my favorite character, was hardly in it, only at the end... not wanting to spoil it for anyone.
In this one Leonard Nimoy 'takes the com'...he makes his directorial debut and to be fair to him he does a good job.
If you haven't seen this one I would recommend that you see Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan before as both films complement each other.
One small observation though, in Star Trek (2009) (a prequel to the original television series) Spock's home planet Vulcan is destroyed and yet in this one they travel to Vulcan. An alternate reality perhaps but my head hurts thinking about it.
The Search For Spock may not have the thrills and spills of The Wrath of Khan but you do have James T. Kirk and co. stealing the Enterprise from space dock, Klingons making mischief; (Christopher Lloyd plays a brilliant Klingon commander) as well as people trapped on a dying planet. Can the Enterprise say the day??
REMEMBER.
