Review of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) by Dann M — 30 Jan 2012
"The needs of the one outweighed the needs of the many." The Star Trek saga continues as the Enterprise limps home from its battle with Khan. But when the Klingons attempt to steal the Geneses technology, Kirk and his crew must stop them and retrieve Spock from the Genesis Planet.
Christopher Lloyd gives an excellent performance as the ruthless Klingon commander who presents Kirk with one of his deadliest challenges. The special effects are mediocre but the action shines through, delivering a riveting adventure.
Yet, the film still keeps the spirit of Trek; tackling sociopolitical issues through sci-fi. Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is often overlooked within the Trek film saga, but it's a spectacular adventure.
