People complain about Kirk being reckless but that's what makes this so compelling, if you knew you're friend was alive & mentally conscious on another planet you shipped him to, would you or would you not want to be reunited? Is a really compelling question, it makes you think "Who should I take?", "Where will we find him" & "What other information does Bones have?" It all goes back to "Because the needs of the one, outweigh the needs of the many" - Captain Kirk. A smart movie aimed at an intelligent that makes us think, now this is a Star Trek film that is Logical! Master Storytelling.
