Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) by Chris J — 30 Aug 2010
You don't have to be a Trek fan to enjoy this, the second and still best entry in the still ongoing franchise, but it helps. Montalban's Khan is appropriately theatrical as a genetically enhanced mad man bent on revenge against Kirk ever since the legendary "Space Seed" episode from the original series.
Operatic, thrilling, funny and deeply profound in its' fantasy explorations of life and death and even aging with dignity. The final death scene seems a bit anti-climatic now but it still works.
