Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) by Bryan W — 19 Feb 2011
This is what I call the ultimate Sc Fi movie great action for a Star Trek amazing charcter development and an amazing villian. When fans think of the hallmark of Star Trek they think of Wrath of Khan or when fans reccomend something to get people into Star Trek this is the gateway to the series.
The plot while some say is not original but honestly after the Motion Picture and its conflecting story. The next Star Trek movie needed a good and simple on to advance the series. By taking many script ideas and bring Khan back from the t.
V. series they were able to come up with one of the best Sc Fi films of all time. Khan is without a doubt one of the most evil and charmastic villian of all time. Every quote and any thing he says is made of pure evil and gusto.
The music by James Horner is fanastic and really goes well with the movie and the actions that are going on. Shatner and Nimoy are at there best. One of the thing I loved about this film is the parallels to great litearly novels like Paradise Lost and most importanly Moby Dick.
All in all if you want to get into Star Trek or want to see a great sc fi movie go find this movie now.
