Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) by Tom R — 14 Jul 2011
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan may be the best of the original series. It certainly has the most memorable villain: the tragically Shakespearean Khan played by Ricardo Montalban who swears revenge on Kirk.
Even though it's a sequel to an episode of the TV show that I've never seen, the backstory isn't mandatory to know as Khan is still very threatening. I'm not sure if The Wrath of Khan one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever told (I mean, it's got great competition), but the ending is kind of shocking even if you already know it and it's certainly worth watching if you only see one of the Captain Kirk Star Trek movies.
