Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) by Brad R — 10 Sep 2012

After "The Motion Picture", this is like a breath of fresh air. Where as the first film as a stodgy, slow behemoth, this is a great, action packed, fun Sci-Fi movie.

The story is a continuation of an episode from the original TV series and works really well as a feature. This is the "Star Trek" film that the fans had been wanting and it is the best of the "1st Phase" of Star Trek movies (which, for me ends at #5).

The effects are amazing, the final space battle still holds up well. Gone are the horrible matt shots from the first, here, the opticals hold up really well with the model work.

So, overall, a fun sci-fi action movie with some familiar faces making fun of the fact that they are getting to old for this.
