Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) by Alex H — 22 Aug 2012
"KHAAAAAAAN" aah, I love wrath of khan, this one is my second favorite star trek movie ever (only being beaten by the new star trek).
In this one, we get a villain that appeared in the TV show, Khan (Ricardo Montalban), who is not happy that Kirk (William Shatner), basically exiled him to a desert planet and forget that he was suppose to send supplies to him as time went by. so when he and his followers (also exiled) hijack a starship that was journeying to a planet nearby. when there, they learn about genesis and fly to a science lab orbiting earth to retrieve it. but Khan's hatred towards Kirk kinda gets in the way of things. it really is a great plot and story, I don't really find a lot of error in it.
The acting is one of my favorite parts, my favorite is Khan, he is one of my favorite villains of all time.
I really like the action in it, all of the excitement in when Khan attempts to kill Kirk by leaving him on a dead planet, or when he chooses to commit suicide believing Kirk will die as well, and before dying, quotes Moby Dick "From hell's heart I stab at thee, for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee".
I was also shocked by the very surprising ending at the end of the movie, I just couldn't believe the did it, who would've expected it.
This really does deserve to be the best of the trek movies, well, or at least did, now that Star Trek (2009). but still.
