Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) by Grant H — 03 Sep 2012
Now this is a movie. Great story and great performances abound here. For all the flak that Shatner gets for his overacting as Capt. Kirk (due mainly to season 3 of the series), he gives a really deep and emotional performance here when needed.
I love the submarine style of the battle, giving a greater sense of fear to those showdowns than ever seen before. And the idea of Kirk having to finally face his own No-Win Scenario is the kind of subtle dramatic wrinkle you rarely get in scifi or action movies anymore.
My favorite Star Trek film, and otherwise one of my all-time favorite movies. See it!
