Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) by Shawn W — 23 Oct 2012
Absolute perfection. Even if you are not a Star Trek fan, this is the one of the single greatest Science Fiction films ever made. It's moving, powerful, fast and intense. Every character feels alive-compared to the cardboard one dimensional failure of ST:TMP.
Every character has a motivation. There is life in this film. It is raw, and it gets in your face. Sometimes it goes for your throat. When it gets to the unforgettable climax, it is simultaneously becomes one of the most beautiful, and one of the most touchingly sad scenes ever filmed.
Star Trek 2 is a masterpiece, and so far, the pinnacle of the Star Trek universe.
