A decent melding of the Old and New Enterprise worlds. The characters are on the whole great - Dataâ(TM)s Emotion chip makes him even more awesome!!! Malcolm McDowell as Dr Tolian Soran (the bad guy) is also excellent.
The demise of Captain James T Kirk however is really pretty awful given his history and does stop this being a truly great Star Trek movie for me.
