Review of Star Trek: Generations (1994) by David L — 07 Dec 2010
A Star Trek with both Kirk and Picard? Yeah it sounds like a strange concept. It works to an extent. I think Kirk's death probably could have been done better. The next generation cast all do pretty well.
Data is funny feeling emotions for the first time with his emotion chip. I think there could have been more screen time for Dr. Crusher, but that's just a small nit pick. It would have also been nice if they would have kept numbering them, this is Star Trek 7.
One final thing that's a little bit of a let down though. Scotty and Chekov at the beginning of the movie is very nice, and I'm glad to see them again, but it's so obvious by their lines that they weren't the first choices of old cast members to join Kirk.
All of Scotty's lines are obviously supposed to be Spock. Also, all of Chekov's lines are supposed to be Dr. McCoy. If they couldn't get the actors they wanted then they should have changed it to fit those characters better.
