Review of Star Trek: First Contact (1996) by Andrew C — 23 Jun 2009
Despite being only slightly more ambitiously plotted than a double episode of the TV show, this hits all the right notes, and also manages to juggle fan service and mainstream appeal.
All of the Enterprise crew get a fair share of the script, although Picard and Data naturally dominate, and guest stars James Cromwell and Alice Krige make an impression. Frakes's direction generally fails to make much use of the opportunities of the cinema screen, but he keeps the thing rolling along competently enough.
