They did a tribute to Lenard Nemoy, and it will be interesting how they address Anton Yelchin's passing in the next installment. I liked that they were willing to have new villains in this movie, instead of recycling the old villains with a new timeline.

Simon Pegg did a good job helping to write the script. He did add a lot of humor but it wasn't too much to take away from the narrative.
