Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Lasse G — 15 Oct 2016
Ever since J.J. Abrams' reinvention of "Star Trek" back in days, I have been a big fan of the films, and I was very happy that this film didn't let me down. This is a great film that takes everything from the new franchise, as well as the original television show that was loved by many people.
The film was directed by Justin Lin and he did an incredible job, especially when it comes to the action sequences. The performances are great all the way around the table. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto have really made these characters their own and I can't help but enjoy watching them on the screen together.
The best performances in the film were given by Karl Urban and Sofia Boutella. The only thing that really bothered me in the film was the villain. You don't really get his modivation until the end and that disappointed me, even though I think they managed to give him some levity by the end of the film.
This is a great film that deserves a place at the top of the list.
