Things go kaboom! Shiny spaceships. Why do barbarian aliens have spaceships? The plot makes no sense. The scenery is impressive but merely background. This is the third of what I think of as the 'Star Trek Alternative Universe' or the Star Trek Tribute Band', and like its predecessors it wholly lacks the philosophical depth of the Original and Next Generation series.
It's difficult to feel affection for any of the characters except for the woman with the stripy face who seemed to have wandered in from a more interesting story.
