Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Aïko G — 07 Feb 2017

Star Trek Beyond is a grand sci-fi adventure that brings entertaining characters and cool CGI effects, but never does anything unique or surprising. We follow the crew of the enterprise as they go into unexplored space after finding a single survivor in an escape pod who asks them to help rescue the rest of her people.

Turns out this is a trap to get a special artifact abort the space ship of captain Kirk and company. When they get stranded on a planet with their ship destroyed, they have to escape safely and stop the villain who wants to destroy the alliance space settlement.

The story isn't really original and almost every mystery or plot twist can be seen coming miles away, but overall Star Trek Beyond kept me entertained until the end.
