Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Rocco D — 10 Aug 2017

This film was incredibly weak. As a Star Trek fan I was rooting for this film. I wanted to like it. But I was incredibly disappointed. I tried to give it another chance in case my expectations were too high or unrealistic.

.. but it was even worse the 2nd time. I literally couldn't even make through to the end on the 2nd viewing. JJ Abrams was sorely missed on this film. A truly weak script... and even weaker direction by Justin Lin.

Mr. Lin: Stick with mindless drivel like Fast and Furious... Those films are all flash, silly and trivial. Star Trek is out of your league. I'm shocked that critics were so overly generous with this film.
