Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Ozfer — 30 Jul 2016

If you've seen Mars Attacks you've seen this movie already. The first problem is the plot is so shallow as they jump right into action its literally like every other action movie these days. Literally 2 minutes in and you know the whole main story, 10 seconds later the video jumps and they are at the planet where the rest of the movie takes place no crew interaction or dialogue.

Obviously there was a ambush (who could have guessed?) and the rest of the movie was just action scenes. At the end they all blow up from the music just like in mars attacks, and next to no reason was provided why music makes all the ships blow up while the star ship just rides the wave of enemy ships and they all just blow up from the music.

Epic boss fight with action at the end and its not too much different from most other action/superhero movie these days with some extra star trek pandering/lore sprinkled in. Not what I expected from star trek.

If you go in expecting a normal action movie then its OK.
