Bad writing, bad direction. If you like to see pretty explosion frantic action and turn the rest of your brain off, this is for you. If you require good writing, this is not for you. If you like at least competent direction, this is not for you.

If you want characters the act rational, this is not for you. Chasing a guy around on a space station and forgetting the transporters exist, and the phasers have a stun setting, vulcans pining for their girl friends, lost federation ship on a planets that would be impossible to get to.
