Review of Star Trek Beyond (2016) by Matt B — 26 Dec 2017
It occurs to me that this would be better described as fantasy rather than sci-fi. The crew of the Enterprise are clearly wizards. They say some fancy words and suddenly things that have no right to work simply do. I can't see any other explanation for how they managed to, for instance, get a half buried spaceship that's only had one person repairing it and was never even designed to lift-off from a planet to do so.
The only reason I'm giving it as much as 3 stars is because I really enjoyed that scene where they used Beastie Boys as a weapon.
