Review of Star Trek (2009) by Brian M — 12 Oct 2013

This was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I was kind of skeptical about watching it, thinking that it would be just another version of the same old story, but, it was better than I expected.

I was hooked from the very first scene of the giant spaceship coming out of a black hole to confront a federation star ship. The story is well told, and the younger versions of Kirk and Spock were very impressive in their roles. The only scene in the movie that I didn't like was the scene with the kid riding a sports scar off a cliff. what was the point of that? Spock"s back story was much more interesting.

Each charactor was added to the story brilliantly. And, I was interested the entire time. There were only a few minutes of spots where nothing was happening, but, the rest of the movie was filled with action.

I think it is one of the best Star Trek movies I have seen.
