Review of Star Trek (2009) by Matt M — 29 Dec 2013
This film set out to do the impossible by actually pleasing hardcore fans, though it replaced the actors and re-used the characters of the original series, while picking up new fans out of the summer blockbuster audience.
The film succeeds in being a highly entertaining space adventure that somehow even manages to explain the change in actors in a non eyebrow raising way. Credit goes to J.J. Abraham, whose excitement for the original premise shows, as he makes a movie by the quality that none of the other star trek films could ever achieve on the big screen.
