As a huge fan of the Star Trek franchise, I was a little disappointed by JJ Abrams re-imagining of the franchise. I was not impressed with the choice of actors (much less the acting itself), nor was I impressed by how the Romulan vessel looked, nor was I impressed by the fact that Chekov's likeness had changed.
To sum it all up, I plead guilty to being a pissed off Trekker because Abrams catered to the mainstream rather than the fanbase that made Star Trek franchise what it is today. Roddenberry would be disappointed; someone please put Rick Berman in charge of the franchise again.
