Review of Star Trek (2009) by Derrick A — 13 Dec 2014
The movie is really strange. It seems almost like a bad fanfiction. The characters are SO miraculously paired together in this film, that I find it almost unbelieveable. Like Jim Kirk is the most luckiest bastard that had ever lived.
He spends a good 3 quarters of the film hanging off something about to die... and honestly it gets to the point where its unbelievable and to action packed. Absolutely a horrible movie. The only good part of the movie was the emotional journey spock takes with the incident with Vulcan, and the references to the old series.
BUT overall it's horrific. The love between first officer and communications officer.. cringe worthy. The actors are WAY to hot, and honestly... it's so badly written that it feels (like I said) like a bad fanfiction.
It tries way to hard, gives everyone to much of a story, and is SO unrealistic. The other good part of the movie was seeing the real Spock (Nimoy), on the big screen again... it makes you feel sad because you missed the old ones.
