Review of Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures (2001) by Vincent B — 02 Jul 2009
I am a huge Stanley Kubrick fan, so I found this fascinating. Otherwise, I think it would have been very boring for an outsider, but then again, a non-Kubrick fan would not be watching this. It was very interesting to see his creative process and how the filmmakers went along discussing all of the cultural impacts of each film, how Kubrick began, and all of his character attributes that had been blown up by the media.
All of these things were unclear to me, until now. Heâ??d been called so many negative things, and he had characteristics of all of these, but he was a very good family oriented man it seems. Though, he could be a huge asshole (poor Shelly).
Very interesting look at a very complex person.
