Review of Standing in the Shadows of Motown (2002) by Hannibal O — 18 Sep 2007
If anything, its worth watching this film for Joan Osborne's rendition of "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" alone because its THAT good. I enjoyed the film quite a bit, but I'll admit its mainly for those who love music (like me) and for those who love the old Motown hits (like me).
Watching the amount of talent these guys had made me want to pick up a guitar and learn how to play; their love for playing is infectious. Its also generally a nice piece on music history, especially if you've ever wanted to know where Motown came from (apparently there are people out there who think it originated from L.
A.!!!).
