Review of Standing in the Shadows of Motown (2002) by Eric H — 09 Nov 2008
Reuniting the surviving Motown session men and having contemporary singers take vocal duty? Sure, why not? The music is unbeatable, and if the movie can't quite decide whether it's going to be a docudrama or a reunion concert, at least it doesn't shortchange the music.
The movie's built around the concert scenes, and the musicians' stories frame them well.
