Review of Stand Up Guys (2012) by Rabih H — 12 Jan 2013
Do not listen to critics on this one! It's a really good film. Not a spectacular blockbuster type movie, just a really good film, and for several reasons:
A- These guys can still act the hairs off a mongoose. (I don't think thats a saying, but it should be). Having that much talent working off each other is a CANT MISS!
B- The story is so simple, yet so sincere. It takes place in less than 24 hours and is just a couple old friends hanging out for one last day. Thats it! No aliens attacking the national security system, no he slept with her, so she's going after his ex-girlfriends father in law.
C- This is an Old-School film. Even the editing and the way it was shot. Very old-school. If you like that, this is a must see event.
In a nutshell, watch this film if you like good acting and great simple film-making.
