Review of Stand Up Guys (2012) by Bernie S — 23 Jan 2013
Nothing grand really happens here. Just a night in the life of some friends who relive some glory days when they were younger and hardcore gangsters apparently. Walken, Pacino and Arkin play off one another excellently and that is the only strength of this movie.
The story is stretched out pretty thin and there isn't enough jokes or humorous scenes to keep it moving. Although the "girl in the trunk" scene is probably one of the best in the film..
.especially the end part of that plot. Pretty humorous (but not knock down hilarious) the movie is entertaining enough to be pretty good.
