Review of Stand Up Guys (2012) by Jack A — 02 Jan 2014
The film is a character study of old friends reunited and facing a hard wall of a duty and loyalty paid with the price of time. One friend is charged with killing the other despite having served a long prison term keeping secrets and staying incredibly loyal to their boss.
Is death a proper reward for all of that? A decision must be made with the hours ticking away for completion of the contracted hit that's been outstanding for 28 years. Great cast, fun dilemma, an a last night spent with old master criminals doing it all one last time.
..and perhaps even using their bad talents for good for a change. A good noir crime drama.
