Review of Stand by Me (1986) by Russ B — 12 Oct 2012
Rob Reiner's touching, poignant coming-of-age film literally changed my life back in 1986 when I was just about the age of these terribly flawed and traumatized young boys. Beautifully filmed and acted, many will find it hard to believe that, first, this is a Stephen King adaptation and, second, it's one of the few times where the adaptation actually far surpasses the written version.
A true gem of a film that is classic enough that it will stand the test of passing time.
