Review of Stand and Deliver (1988) by Cliff O — 13 Jun 2008
The story is amazing. The writing is less good. The film feels very episodic and disjointed. It took quite a while before I really got a feel for what was going on. I would have liked less random gang stuff and more classroom work.
Kudos to Warner Brothers for greenlighting a film in which the only non-Hispanic role is African-American and which was written and directed by an Hispanic man.
