This could have been a much more than "one of those stupid parodies with lazy writing". What happened movies like The Naked Gun, Hot Shots, even Scary Movies 1-2 were actually a good spoof films. And some times there is a better the plot than in actually film which they made a parody.
But just bring iconic the horror characters like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger to goofy around with a lazy script, it just does not work that way. These characters is become joke anyway, thank`s to remakes, no need a spoof films to do that.
