Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Leighton T — 23 Sep 2009
The characters are annoyingly one-note. There wasn't much depth to the film at all, and all the plot threads resolved themselves quite predictably. But there were some whiz-bang action scenes, and a few nice shots.
The setup reminded me vaguely of The Lady Vanishes, with everyone having their own motives for wanting the coach to move forward or stop, and ultimately uniting against a common enemy. A somewhat flawed, but generally enjoyable film.
