Review of Stagecoach (1939) by Blais E — 03 Dec 2010
Early John Wayne extravaganza, pretty much the one that made him a star--up to this point, he'd been stuck in a plethora of cheesy, Grade Z westerns. Featuring great characterizations by a who's-who of acting talent of the time and some marvelous character faces (Thomas Mitchell, John Carradine, Donald Meek, Berton Churchill-), with in-yer-face action, and a solid storyline.
The 60's remake, while certainly not on a par with the original, is also worth seeking out.
