Review of Stage Beauty (2004) by Liliana C — 20 Jul 2011
Highly fictionalized tale of how women became allowed to act on stage in the English Restoration era. Peppered with anachronisms throughout, the film does at the same time manage to convey a sense of the times.
Fine acting all around, though except for the big scenes, Danes seems lacklustre. Enjoyable flick, don't use it as a guide to your history paper though.
