In so many ways this film shouldn't have worked. Cliched premise, corny ending, yet another Macaulay Culkin clone. Yet it does work thanks to a smart script, Bill Murray in fine form (along with Naomi Watts very funny in a rare comedic role) and a touch of pathos to temper the humour.
Thoroughly enjoyable.
