Review of St. Vincent (2014) by Lyn — 07 Mar 2015
This one's strictly for Bill Murray fans. Well, I am one, too, but this felt like an indulgent vehicle for Murray as he pivots around various cliches. It also felt like a Brooklyn version of "About a Boy" (Hugh Grant, Toni Collette) only the latter film had more edge and a brighter, more engaging boy (Nicholas Hoult).
Besides Murray, I did enjoy Melissa McCarthy in a role with more heart & less buffoonery than usual.
