Review of St. Vincent (2014) by Lamontraymond — 10 Oct 2014
It's refreshing seeing Melissa McCarthy playing it straight - the woman certainly can play serious roles. Bill Murray is at the top of his game here, and the kid is MUCH better than I thought he'd be. Only Naomi Watts is an awkward fit with the Russian accent and the pregnancy.
She's fun and provides some comic relief, so I'm glad she's there. The film actually brought multiple tears to my eyes, which says something - heartwarming. I'll just say that I expected more, but what is there is highly worth seeing.
