Review of St. Vincent (2014) by Mar L — 27 Jan 2015
There are things in life that you don't think you are, but it's what people really see you as who you are. Watching St Vincent, where you can't really predict how the onscreen reactions are going to be is such a delightful thrilljoy.
Murray + Lieberher + McCarthy + Watts provide such charismatic and in-your-face comedic doses in all the right amounts that it just feels wrong to not feel uplifted when the curtain closes. Murray eases nonchalantly, unwillingly, but surely and triumphantly as St Vincent -- bestowed upon yearningly by his coincidental kid-friend.
A show that you probably would've missed that you probably should not have missed. Poignant and serenely joyous.
