Review of St Trinian's (2007) by Bill T — 17 Dec 2010
Surprisingly huge cast for a reboot of the St Trinian's franchise for todays market tries to duplicate the charms of the 60's movies. Doesnt quite get there. What made the 60's movies work is that they were more adult movies, about the adult reactions to the kids.
Here, despite the presence of Colin Firth and Rupert Everett (duplicating Alistair Sim in a dual role), its more about the kids, and it almost becomes a Girl Power movie. Mostly just see this for the blast that Firth and Everett have with each other.
